May Motivation - Weekly Write Down

W E E K L Y O R G A N I S E

Hello Beautiful People

Welcome back to another Motivational May post.

This week I wanted to get in early before the new week and talk to you all about my next motivational tool that I use. The moment that I started to actually sit down and take a look at the week coming up I knew that this was a tool that I needed to do daily.

This tool is the weekly write down.

Heading into this week coming, I always take a moment every Sunday afternoon to sit down and take a moment to take a look at the week that is coming up. I wanted to take you guys along with me on this journey so let's start at the very beginning.

Before we get all into it I just wanted to give a little backstory so you can see how I got here.

I work a rotating roster which I only ever know two weeks in advance, I also spend a lot of time at work some weeks and then other weeks I spend a lot of time at home. I then started on my motivational and inspiring journey and that was when I discovered what I like to call 'weekly write down'.

There are a lot of different ways that people take on a 'weekly write down' and I would personally say that there is no right or wrong way. However this post is going to go into depth with how I approach a weekly reset and mainly how positive planning the week can be.

Let's get to it.

To start off I have a plain blank weekly planner that was just bought from Kmart, nowhere fancy. I then take a moment to think about the week that is coming up and really think about the week that has been.

I then go in with colour coordinated highlighters (I know I am crazy) to mark down when I am doing certain things. The colour of the highlighters used has been the same throughout the year so I always know what I am doing just by looking and only seeing the colour.

Green = work

Pink = gym

Purple = admin

Blue = Reminders

You can see above that I have covered my work days only just for personal privacy but you can also see on the Sunday that I have an RDO which is a 'rostered day off' for those that don't know. Scroll down for a bigger picture.

Cutting straight to the business.

After taking a look at my own personal resets I wanted to cut straight to the business and let you all know my exact steps to get this weekly write down done.

  1. Sit down and be ready to take a moment.

  2. Reflect on the week that has just been.

  3. Know what worked and what didn't.

  4. Determine what you want to do with this week.

  5. Write down your work schedule.

  6. Write down your gym schedule.

  7. Determine the must do for the week.

  8. Place any appointments you may have on the calendar.

  9. Place any reminders down.

  10. Place on any points that you want to do with the week.

Take it to the next level.

  1. Find a motivational quote to influence the week.

  2. Drop down some dot points to remind yourself of what you want.

  3. Place reminders that may be needed for coming weeks.

There it is!

There you go, you can all see that that is exactly how I sit down and do my weekly write down. Having a moment to take a weekly write down helps me personally clear my head and be ready to head in a clear direction for the week.

It helps being able to know exactly how my day is what I already expect of myself for the day and for the week. Having a weekly write down allows for me to know what will fall onto my power list and what time I can allow daily for other things that I need to get done.

What I need to make clear with a weekly write down is that it is the most important and crucial things that make it onto the page. The things that are going to take up the most time and also the things that need to get done every day.

I hope you guys have enjoyed a little insight into my week and the way that I achieve even the basic amount of tasks.

The weekly write down is something that has changed my life and has made heading into a new week even easier.
