From the title your probably thinking that this blog is about to get real Australian real quick. But you'd be wrong.
This is just another one about Christmas.
I think my favourite thing about Christmas time is it really is a time where you can weed out all the snakes from your garden.
Now I want to start of by saying this blog is not about being salty but it's really about realising things.
2018 - the real year of 'realising things'
I always find that Christmas time for me personally is such a cleansing time of the year and I always find that it makes me see things clearer in regards to the people I want to spend my time around. There are two factors that influence that cleanse.
ONE: I work so much.
All of my friends and family know that I work in an environment that thrives of Christmas time and school holidays, they all understand that I am spread pretty thin in this time of the year and that it takes a lot for me to be at certain. I work long hours and sometimes with very minimal days off. My family understand and one half of my friends are working alongside me so they get it and the other half know and understand.
(I am forever grateful for my friends who support me and realise that I pretty much go on a work hibernation from October to February.)
This now leads us right into the second reason:
TWO: I WORK SO F*CKING MUCH
Besides the pay check at the end of the fortnight there is an upside to this whole working so much situation. It really makes me value the spare time I do have. Also with it being the silly season there is always plenty to do and plenty of people to do it with. So with the very minimum spare time that I do have there is not one second that I take for granted.
I swear I have my December planned out and ready to go all rotating around my roster.
Dec 7th: Christmas shopping.
Dec 14th: Christmas Dinner with friends.
Dec 18th: "realise things".
Dec 20th: Get my lashes done.
Dec 23rd: Remove the snakes.
Dec 25th: CHRISTMAS DAY
I think one of the most magical parts of all December is that is has the power to show who is real and who is as fake as the Christmas trees we have in our Australian homes.
I always like to try and catch up with the people who mean the most sometime in December or if not sometime close in the New Year, the nicest thing though is when they are giving trying to make the same amount of of effort with you to catch up as well!
So let's get straight into it:
I will make effort for all the people that I see fit in my life and if they make the effort back, they stay. If they don't it's "off with your head".
I'm not trying to be salty I really am not that cut throat but if there are people who you value in your life and who you thought valued you back and they can't even reply to a simple message around Christmas time then maybe you need to reconsider as to why you care so much about them.
We are all busy but we all make an effort for who really cares.
Please remember that you are worth it.
