It's just around the corner you can almost touch it. No it’s not a mirage. Yes it is real.
It is the infamous STUDY WEEK.
We just have one more week to get through and we will be there and ready to have a whole week dedicated to resting and relaxing and not having to think about what topics are due and not having to worry about any assignments.
JUST KIDDING
If that is how you are going to spend your study week then I will pray for you, only because that is exactly how I have spent countless study weeks and trust me when I say that it is not helpful at all.
But before we get to study week, we have got to get through this last little week 6 that we are in. Now many of you will have assignments due this week or if you are like me, you had assignments due last week and you now have assignments due the week after study week (pls don’t take this moment to think how good study week looks at having all that free time to “do your assignment”) on top of all your content work that you have to do which you conveniently forgot about doing last week when you were so busy doing your assignments.
HERE ARE WEEK 6 TIPS AND TRICKS
(Before we forget all about week 6 and start our little not so relaxing break from not studying because that won't be happening in our Study Week, we will be studying.)
STICKY NOTES
I know your mind is racing a hundred miles a minute because mine is too. Your are trying to do your content work or trying to get through an assignment or online test and you are literally triggered by every single thing and your mind wanders to all the other things you could be doing. So the number one thing you need to have is STICKY NOTES. Have a sticky notes sitting there next to you and you can jot down all the triggers that you have and clear your mind of them knowing that you have jot them down in a place you will remember them.
DO YOUR CONTENT WORK
In week six I promise you one of the best things you could do for you self is be up to date in all your content work. Take an extra hour per subject (if you need it) to catch up on the content work that you are still getting though and head into week 6 clear of all readings and weekly postings so you can just focus on your assignments.
ORGANISE YOUR MUST DO
You know that sticky notes you list you had complied throughout the week of all your brain dumps. Well now you need to take 20 mins and work out your must do for the study week that is coming. I like to break mine up into subjects and jot down all the things per subject that need doing. I then put that into priority and set aside time in the coming study week for all of those things.
PLAN YOUR WEEK
Spend the last few days of week 6 either tying up loose ends or using your must do list to highlight areas of concern and start to plan your coming study week around these areas. Also using your must do list know what heading into your Study Week you are aware of how much study you need to get done and even set it a specific day.
That is a couple of tips and tricks for not only week six but to also ensure that you are starting your Study Week of right and are in the best mind frame to start to smash it all out.
I'll see you all back here next Tuesday and hopefully in a tad of a chiller mind frame, but let me leave you with this quote.
